Kuwait

6th august 2006 to 21st august 2006.

thanks to my hubby dear that i get to go to such amazing places which doesnt qualify in any holiday or vacation plan.. he works and i have the vacation. isnt it great! so this time it was kuwait- al ahmadi. i landed in kuwait to find that my visa from hotel has not turned up.. called up the hotel to find out that he hasn't send me the visa at all.. so here i was waiting at the airport for over an hour.. the moment the visa came, the airport authorities handed it over to me in as much a hurry as i was to leave the airport! :) nevermind. a good looking half indian was waiting for me in a toyata suv. felt great. but the moment i stepped in the driveway from the centrally airconditioned airport, i felt wat heat is! it was the temp 50 degrees which hit me first.. the desert heat.. from the plane itself.. i could figure out how the place was built.. coz it looked like a canvas where lines and blocks were drawn with ruler and pen.. got in the car.. back to ac.. drove for 20 mins in the smooth fast lane reached the hotel.. a pretty property! there is somethng strange about the buildings .. they are not more than two storeys mostly and very huge.. all through the way to the hotel. the room was exquisite- a executive suite, almost like a one BHK apt.. very pretty.. in the evening, pinaki came to pick me up to get to his apt- the guesthouse. it was still so hot outside at 8 pm. we went to the apt. it was a huge one.. with two bedrooms.. the living room was a spacious enuf to have two sets of sofas and still alot of place. and tehre was this bar along with thedinning space with eight seater dinning table. though its a dry state, the bar looked pretty with selection of glasses. the place was good enuf to woo any homemaker. the dinner was set for a restuarant nearby.. walking for five minutes seemed like walking over a hot plate. the place called kabab inn was rightly named. in their menu they had something which appeared in every preparation.. so we decided to order that as with some salad and kabab. man, so they placed within minutes on that tiny table for two.. very soon we realised that that somethng which appeared in all the preparation was nothing but brinjal. food was tasty esp kebabs.. but salty. guess coz of the weather. the next day was rest day. house was a nice place to rest especially with the sight of burning sun outside.
the next fourteen days simply few.. thrusday friday being holidays and the office timing for him was from 7 to 4, the schedule of life changed temporarily.. evening were much more time with each other.. we went to see the scientifc centre one day and also the biggest mall there.. it was cool.. infact very much crowded.. and ofcourse it was nice to have some friends around too.. ALkout was our favourite and nearest hangout. the surprising factor was when we went to the beach at11 at nite and still the water was hot .. very different!
on 19th we left for india. it was a good experience to stay there.. dunno when we will visit again. i m sure we wud soon.. may be get transferred here too.. the only thing i ll miss being here is Driving as woman is not allowed to drive :( rest all great.
